Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes (a short drive from Los Angeles) is a little slice of luxury heaven! I have always liked this resort, but today my opinion jumped to lots and lots of love! I got to participate in Chef Bernard’s new homemade sea salt program. Yeah, he’s making his own salt… no biggie. It’s so awesome! Chef is collecting sea water from the pacific right in front of the resort (some of the cleanest, most pure water in the world) and is filtering it, and drying it in glass tanks he had made in the greenhouse.
So the coolest part isn’t just that he’s doing this and serving the salt in the restaurants at Terranea, but they are also offering a Sea Salt Workshop so you can come see the process! The workshop is $65 per person and what a great gift this would make for a foodie or someone that is impossible to shop for! The day includes a program with Chef, a glass of wine, and small bites garnished with the salt flavors.
By the way, that artichoke in the picture above, grown on property in Chefs garden! He could not get any cooler!
