2013 A Year To Thrive

By Leslie
·
December 18th, 2012

This past year I’ve been blessed with a wonderful journey of good food, great cities and inspiring people. I am so grateful to all of you who continue to push me further to bring everyday vegan food into meat-eating households. With each step and each click, I remain committed, with you, to make 2013 our healthiest year ever – and with that I can’t wait to share this amazing giveaway!

One of those inspiring people that I met and have become friends with in 2012 is Brendan Brazier. If you haven’t heard of him yet, I promise you will soon!  Aside from being a former professional Ironman triathlete, a best selling author, and vegan guru to the stars (think: Le Mis’ Hugh Jackman), he is the founder of Vega (a line of whole food nutritional products) and, now the creator of Thrive Forward – a free, personalized online guide to help transform your health through plant-based nutrition. What better way to kick off 2013 than with this guy, right?

Today Brendan and I are giving you the opportunity to win a Vega/Thrive Start-up Pack (a $170 value)!  And because we’ve got our santa caps on, we’re giving away 2 prizes!!  Each prize package contains:

·         Vega Pre-Workout Energizer Tub 19oz

·         Vega Sport Electrolyte Hydrator (30×4.4g)

·         Vega Sport Protein Bar Box (12x 60g) Chocolate Coconut

·         Vega One: All-in-One Nutritional Shake Sml Tub

·         Vega Shopping Bag

·         Vega Shaker Cup

And a copy of the best selling book Thrive

So Please get on Brendan’s site and sign up for Thrive Forward which  launches in January. Together we will THRIVE in the new year! xo!

To enter, tell me what your health/nutrition goal is for 2013.  Just leave a comment below.  The winners will be picked on December 24th :)

      Brendan
My healthy goal is to find balance. I find myself running, weight training, doing yoga enjoying it all, but not finding enough energy for it all. On days that I remember, supplementing my exercise regime with Vega has helped tremendously.
Regarding nutrition; I would like to continue exploring with Vegan cooking and raw meals to find the best nutritional value in the food I consume which will hopefully result in a more nutrient dense diet thus improving overall athletic performance.

      Brendan,
My goal for 2013 is to continue on my quest to find my peak performance and spread the message of health and wellness to all those I meet. As a vegan professional mma fighter and coach I want to be an example to all my students and teammates of the power of a health lifestyle.
This will be my second full year of being vegan and I love it. I am off almost all my medicine and all my medical ailments have been reversed. The thing that I have found to be the most profound to me is the clarity in my thoughts. My mind has been like an idea factory since I have been vegan and I love it. I am so thankful that I have found this treasure and intend to live this way the rest of my life.

My goal for 2013 is to get more exercise especially when my days are very busy. I will do everything possible to accomplish this, such as by taking in grocery bags one at a time to get more walking in. In addition, I will try to find new healthy recipes that are quick and easy to make so that I’ll be more apt to eat healthy. Thank you!

My goal in 2013 is to run the local 10-miler. I’m off to a slow start after injuring my ankle only two weeks into my training program. I’ve never been a runner – I’ve actually resisted the encouragement of my running friends to hit the road at anything faster than a brisk walk. But now I’m committed and refuse to let this injury derail me! And in the process, I hope to encourage them to explore a vegan diet!

My goal for 2013- I want to continue to feel the best I ever have in my life! I switched over to being Vegan in June of 2012. I have used Vega products here and there when I have had the ability to purchase them. These products are amazing!! They have changed my perspective on what a diet should be. My Doctor of 12 years told me I look the best he has ever seen me look! I share the Vega products in anyway I can because I know what they have done for me personally and I really believe in them and a healthy plant-based diet. Thanks to Brendan Brazier and his book Thrive, for giving me a whole new perspective on life and feeling good!

My husband & I just set a goal today! We’re currently vegetarians, but we’re going to transition to only one vegetarian meal a day, with all other meals and snacks being vegan. This way, we can still eat our eggs and cheese (local & organic, cage free… as ethical as possible) which we enjoy, but we’ll also enjoy the health benefits and cost savings of eating primarily vegan. :)

I would love to win this and get guidance from a vegan who can in encourage and guide me in the right direction.

In 2013 I’m going to continue on my road to total health. I’ve blown away my doctors so far, and my health stats/numbers are amazing. I’ve continued to lose weight but healthy. Eating the right choices and portion control AND working out. I’ve added the gym, yoga and running to my life. I grew up as always being the fat kid but NOW… I own my life. I have NEVER run in my life, I’m 38 and only 4 months ago started running. Every Tuesday I run a 5k and in May I now have on my goal list a 1/2 marathon. I’m excited and have NO fear. Fears are what kept me fat my whole life. Now, living cleaner, living healthier and I am ultimately living HAPPIER!!!! It’s amazing how much living I NOW do!!! So 2013 is going to help me hit my weight loss goals AND my fitness goals. :)
