I do love my fair share of sporting events, but most of the time it means eating before the game. There just aren't too many vegetarian options that aren't deep fried or smothered in processed cheese (you know I'm talking to you nachos!). So what's a vegetarian to do? Well, sometimes there are options. Yesterday I went to the USC home opener and decided to explore all the vegetarian options
USC jumped on the food truck bandwagon by allowing four trucks to pull inside the stadium every game. Now the trucks rotate so you can't count on any of this food to be here permanently.
This is fine anyway because the only vegetarian option I found here was sweet potato fries, but they were served with honey mustard which sounds like a fab combination! I passed on those and continued my journey. Next stop is the tried and true Senor Corn (you can find them at tunnel 2). You may recognize them from your local farmers market or fair. They make three things: roasted corn on the cob, loaded baked potatoes, and sweet potatoes filled with sugar. I opted for the roasted corn and un-loaded baked potato.
Yes, I'm aware that's not the most flattering picture of me, but it's the only one I had… And here is my potato with chives and a little bit of salsa:
Other options for vegetarians at the stadium include french fries, ice cream, funnel cake, and popcorn. Not the most healthy, but hey look who I ran into:
Noah from Popsalot! He is at section 13 and will be selling three varieties of my favorite popcorn all season! He has his carmel, kettle, and cheese. Today I went with the kettle since I'd already filled up on so much food! And ps good to know that his kettle corn is vegan. So that and the corn on the cob are really the only vegan options at the stadium…
Time to enjoy the game.
Am I missing anything?? What are your favorite vegetarian options at sporting events?

I totally agree with you! It’s super hard to eat as a vegetarian at sporting events. Since I am a college student I go to a good amount of IU football games but normally I just have to eat before I go or bring my own veggie soy dogs for tailgating
Totally feel your pain Rachel! I usually bring my own food for tailgating as well. Then most of the people at the tailgate want to try it too
The food truck business is a real great thing. I don’t see what’s bad in great diverse tastes, low cost food and great people. I sure prefer it over any fast food restaurant in the local mall. Will certainly visit your site more often now.

Vegetarian foods are great and tasty, i shifted to vegan diet a couple of years ago and my body has been very good. `”:*;
Vegetarian foods are the best since they are low in fat and are healthier. ‘
