Something New: Broccolini

What to know:

You may have heard of broccolini; it's been taking the United States by storm since 1998.  The Japanese developed it as a hybrid of broccoli and Chinese kale.  In one word, it's delicious! It tastes a lot like broccoli, but it's more tender.  Don't cut off those stems, they are delightful too!

You should be able to find this vegetable just about anywhere.  It's grown year round in California so it's always in season : )

What to do with them:

My favorite way to eat broccoli is lightly steamed, then drizzled with a little olive oil, lemon juice and garlic salt.  So yummy!

So try something new!
