Seems like a lot of you are interested in party foods. So, it just so happens I am throwing a party today for my friend Ivonne. She is a brilliant jewelry designer who is going to show off her stuff and hopefully sell it all : ) My part is to supply the house and the food. I'm going to walk you through exactly what it takes to have a great party!
There are the first few key ingredients.
Have a theme! (this is going to be a girly party, explanation to follow)
Have great cocktails! (in this case orange and peach mimosas)
Have plenty of foods to nibble on. (You don't want your guest getting too tipsy!)
Always add some fresh flowers! (this makes everything that much nicer)
Always, always, always have a candle burning in the restroom!! You don't want to embarrass anyone or have your guests talking.
Since we are having a jewelry party I decided a girly theme would be appropriate. That means girly foods you can eat with your hands. (forks and knives are a pain!!) Pretty cocktails, pretty colors, pretty flowers etc.
Here is the menu:
Fruit tower
Blue cheese gourges
Spinach Artichoke Dip
Cheese Plate
Greek Salad sticks
Zucchini and goat cheese roll ups
Cold cut platter
Heirloom tomato bruschetta
Madeleine Cookies
Triple Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
Daisy Lemon Cake
And Orange Peach Mimosas!
Ok, one of the other most important things for a successful party: LISTS!!! Detailed lists of everything you are making and check it off as you go. (you don't want to remember 5 minutes before people get there that you forgot a key dish) On that note I'll continue this post tonight after the party : )
